4 things to check before you buy another seat cushion

4 things to check before you buy another seat cushion

Most people who land here have already thrown one or two away. Here is what to look for, so the next one is the last one.

1. Is there a real cut-out, or just a dip?

A dip still presses on the tailbone. A cut-out means nothing touches it at all: your weight lands on the thighs and hips instead. Look at the cushion from above. If the back edge is closed, it is a dip.

2. Do the edges rise on both sides?

Flat seats let one hip drop lower than the other. Your back spends the whole day twisting to fix it. Raised sides hold both hips at the same height, so it stops.

3. Does the foam come back?

Press it with your hand. Let go. If it stays dented in the store, it will stay dented under you in three weeks. High-density foam returns to full height every time you stand up. That is the whole difference between a cushion that lasts and one that turns into a pancake.

4. How many days do you get to test it on your own chair?

Thirty days is a weekend and a week. Sixty days is long enough to know: the office chair, the car, the couch, the whole meal at the table.

We built Holdform around those four checks.

Cut-out for the tailbone. Raised edges on both sides. Foam that comes back. Sixty days on your own chair, with free US shipping both ways.
